Hoi An 4 zile.
Ceva socializare in plus si totul a fost perfect.
Being on a sort of tight budget means some daily, err weekly, indulgences can become expensive luxuries, especially in a country with high import tarifs. I’ve managed to get through 2 daily meals for 3 weeks with only 2 glasses of wine. An italian chardonay and an australian shiraz. And I cut down on food for this:)
Don’t worry, we’re not starving but managing a yearly budget is an interesting exercise in gauging what and when you should indulge, especially in countries with high import tarifs. As a side thought, we went 2 times to the cinema here (nice experience) and it costs more than wine so at least we know our priorities.
Moral of the story: send us wine!!!:)
We were so lucky to be able to squeeze one day to Phong Nha Ke Bang. The caves are amazing.
We started with the dark cave. This one is completely filled with water. You arrive at the cave entrance on a zip line and then you plunge in the water and start swimming in the cave. Your torch-lamp lights the way. The feeling is awesome, you feel in the wild, things lurking under the surface. After swimming comes a nice 30 min trek in the mud. You get bogged in down to your hips, you get dirty and slippery. Loved it. More swimming in the cave(no lights for return), kayaking and a last zipline to dive in the river. Awesome.
Afternoon at the paradise cave. Stunning, intricate. Cristina calls it divine, a cathedral. I’ll let the pictures speak
As always, scroll down for english.
Mi-a placut Hue. Foarte mult. In general o atmosfera destinsa si mancare buna.
I enjoyed Hue. A lot, a whole lot. It’s got a chilled, layed back vibe with welcoming people and great cuisine. Our hotel(Grace) was warm, welcoming and helpful, gave us maps and pointed us at the right restaurants. My highlight was the Imperial Citadel. Partially flooded and partially in ruins, it felt like a post apocalyptic landscape from the 1800. My second highlight, the market, an amazing maze of …. everything that can be bought and sold: textiles, food, cigarettes, plastics, electronics and all sort of other stuff I could not name. For cultural reassurance we had a pizza and went to see Mockingjay at the Big Cinema. Ah, and we found cooked maggots at one supermarket.
