O saptamana in Tikehau. Fara telefon, fara internet. M-am panicat in primele zile. In ziua plecarii eram deprimat, m-au mai ajutat cele 4 plonjari absolut incredibile. Imi lipseste deja locul.
One week in Tikehau. 5 days in the middle of nowhere, on a small motu with a few more people. 200 meters between the ocean and the lagoon, 50 meters wide. No cell coverage, no internet. I panicked the first few days. By the day we had to leave, I was depressed too. I am going to miss that place. Luckily, some amazing dives made the transition better.
Am inotat, cu si fara rechini si alti pesti. Am pescuit. Am mers. Ne-am bucurat de multe apusuri. Cristina si-a gasit un prieten timid.
We swam, with and without sharks and fish. We fished. We walked. We looked at plenty of sunsets. Cristina found a new shy friend.
After a long day diving, good food and goodbyes to new friends, it’s hard to find the motivation to write a post. Thankfully the pictures from Maupiti don’t need words. A small island, no luxury hotels, resorts and mass tourism. We stayed at Sandra and Kete, ate with them, good and plentiful, swam and hiked. A marvel of an island.
